After this, there will be glory

Today, on my podcast, I was reflecting. It was November 2, 2016. That was my 40th birthday; my sister came over to cheer me up. I was very ill. You can hear all about what she did to lift me when you listen to my podcast.

At the time, before God miraculously healed me of two incurable and debilitating autoimmune diseases, I was in bad shape. Doctors didn’t know how to manage my symptoms. I was physically miserable that day. But thank God for deliverance. I could run and shout right now! Glory to His name.

Tomorrow is my 42nd birthday. I am excited to be disease-free, pain-free and enjoying a clean bill of health. If you’d like to help me celebrate my birthday, please consider making a donation to Empowering Everyday Women Ministries by clicking here. Your tax deductible gift would really help my nonprofit organization to help those in need and continue sharing the Gospel.

So anyway, I am beyond grateful to God for letting me live. Perhaps you are in a season of difficulty and have not yet gotten the relief you’re praying and hoping will manifest. I encourage you to keep pushing, even when it seems useless; even when life doesn’t make sense; even when you have cried until you feel like you have no more strength left to cry; even when the enemy is telling you that believing God is pointless and useless.

It’s not.

God is going to deliver you and use your life as a testimony.

I know that, sometimes, we feel abandoned by God when we go through hard things. Satan tells us our issues prove we are not blessed and favored; God is not good and merciful. After all, how could He be when He allows such bad things to happen?

But what I’ve come to realize is that what seems to be the worst stuff turns out to be the best thing for advancing God’s Kingdom. As I was saying in my podcast, everything you go through serves a divine purpose. As ugly, unfair, tough and devastating as it feels, God will use this to glorify Himself and prove that there is nothing too hard for Him.

Remember in John 2, during a wedding at Cana when the people ran out of wine? The Messiah told His disciples to get six stone water jars that could hold 20-30 gallons each and fill them with water. After they obeyed, Jesus turned that water into wine.

Scripture says Jesus' water-to-wine miracle was “the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory.” So from that we see that the wine running out, which appeared to be a problem, was no problem at all for the Savior. It was just disguised as a problem, when in all actuality, it was a platform for the Lord to put the truth of who He is on display.

Had not the problem showed up, Jesus could not have shown out. Had your issue never manifested, the world could not see through you a display of His divinity, His deity, His power and His ability to do the impossible.

Whether it’s a simple problem or a complex issue you’re facing, the Lord is able to solve it. So don’t focus on what looks problematic in your world at this moment. Be mindful of the fact that God works in mysterious ways. He loves displaying His majesty and authority through even the most unfortunate situations.

In John 2, after the miraculous water-to-wine conversion, Jesus ordered that some of the wine be given to the master of the banquet. When he sipped it, he was so impressed. He said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now."

Friend, the best is on the way for you. But for a season, God had to allow the problem to persist so He could swoop in and put His glory on display. Again, He loves showing off His divine power. He loves flexing His supernatural muscle. All you have to do is wait on Him and trust in Him.

Surely He will move by His power. Surely He will make a way out of no way. Surely He will turn your negative story into a positive testimony.

Your waiting will pay off. Once He moves, you’ll look back and clearly see that He was there all along. He had a plan already in place. You just had to be patient and hang in there until the opportune time for the manifestation of His divine purpose.

If you are in a waiting season, I’ve got good news: after this, glory is coming. Not your glory, but His. He gets glory by changing outcomes; shifting circumstances; healing diseases; giving increase where there is lack; saving lost souls; restoring what is broken; erasing guilt and shame; picking up the pieces and making something amazing from what was shattered.

Just wait on Him. Glory is being revealed in due time.

To help you anticipate the good things that are on the way for you and get your expectation up, I’m stirring Psalm 34:10 NIV into your cup of inspiration. It says, “The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.”

As you drink down the contents of your cup, you will rejoice in knowing that, as long as you seek God and obey His word, you need not worry over lack. God will provide everything you need. He will do the impossible and show Himself strong on your behalf.

Expect favor, increase and breakthrough.

If you are presently waiting for manifestation, your wedding at Cana moment is about to happen. When your breakthrough comes, when your supernatural release happens, you will surely say what the master of the banquet said in Scripture: God saved the best till now.

And He will get all the glory.

Be encouraged!

Let’s pray.

God, the struggle has been difficult, but I will endure it faithfully so that You will get glory through my life. I stand on Your word and I believe that the best is yet to come. And when my breakthrough is revealed, I’ll be careful to give Your name the honor, praise, and glory. It all belongs to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
