The other day I was watching an old family video about the day when our son Kaleb got stuck in the bathroom on the main floor of our house. For a full half hour, we tried everything to get him out. We even attempted to remove the door from its hinges. It didn’t work.

Hubby was at the office at the time. So he was suggesting techniques over the phone. When nothing was effective, finally, our oldest son Kedar, who had taken the doorknob off, got an idea. He grabbed a wrench, twisted the exposed spindle, and opened the door.

It worked!

We were all relieved.

Sometimes, in life, getting doors to open for you is hard, especially when you’re trying to do it yourself. But when God is the One opening doors, there is no struggle. When He commands you to be loosed, nothing can hold you back.

I’m reminded of what happened in Acts 16 when Paul and Silas were in prison. They had been stripped and severely beaten. Wounded, bloody, hurting and all, these men of God started praying and singing hymns of praise to God. Around midnight, the Lord sent a violent earthquake that shook the foundations of the prison.

According to verse 26, “At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.”

The power of God made the doors of the prison fly open, and He is going to do precisely that in your life. It won’t be just any doors; it will be the right doors—the ones God has destined for you in order to accomplish His will.

You are about to walk through some new doors of opportunity. God is putting you in places and positions that you couldn’t enter without His favor!

God opened the prison doors for Paul and Silas to put His glory on display. The jailer ended up asking these servants of God in verse 30, “What must I do to be saved?” By the time it was all over, the prison guard and his entire household had been baptized, and had come to faith in Christ.

In your life, God wants to supernaturally open doors, heal diseases, overcome impossible odds, defeat intimidating enemies, catapult you to higher levels, and do what folks say is impossible, just to awaken faith in others.

If you feel locked up and stuck in your situation today, don’t worry. It won’t be this way forever. Believe and know that this is your season for doors to fly open. God is turning it around for you. He will use your awesome breakthrough to glorify Himself.

To remind you that God is doing something extraordinary that only He is able to do, I’m stirring Zechariah 4:6 into your cup of inspiration, which says, “‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,' says the LORD Almighty.”

As you drink down the contents of your cup, know that you’re about to walk into a new season of the open door. God is putting you in the right position to be effective for His Kingdom. He is going to change your life for the better. And when He does it, remember, it’s not for your glory, but for His alone.

Now let’s pray.

God thank You for opening doors and making ways for me. Even though my process leading to this point has been difficult, I know You were refining me and teaching me that it is Your power, not mine, that secures victory and ushers me into my place of purpose. Right now, by faith, I praise You for my new season of open doors and greater favor—all for Your glory alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
