Only God can

January is Glaucoma Awareness Month. It is dedicated to bringing more attention to one of the leading causes of blindness here in the U.S.

This is something that is very near and dear to my heart because I was diagnosed with Glaucoma in 2015. Thank God He healed my eyes! If you need healing in 2019, let’s join our faith and believe God to do it for you as well.

Recently, I completed an interview about my miraculous healing from Glaucoma, as well as two insidious autoimmune diseases, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia.  The Christian reporter asked how I felt when I was carried into the sanctuary by my husband Kenya at my healing service in March 2017.

I got emotional while answering.

I told him I felt helpless, ashamed, and I was embarrassed. I didn’t want anyone to see me that way. I felt vulnerable and nervous. I was in pain, of course. I wished I could have just disappeared and hidden myself from the gazes of the people in attendance. It was rough.

But all that shame and pain was wiped away in an instant when Jesus, the Healer, touched me, and made me whole.

A paralytic man in Matthew 9:1-8 was carried to Jesus also. At the time, the Master was teaching inside a house in Capernaum. Four friends, according to Mark 2:1-12 and Luke 5:18-25, tore the roof off. They lowered the afflicted man down, because the entryway was blocked by the crowd.

That’s persistent faith, right?

When Jesus saw the paralytic, He didn’t zone in on the man’s physical condition, but rather, the condition of his heart. Jesus said, “Be encouraged, my child! Your sins are forgiven.”

The Bible says, the Pharisees and teachers of the Law said within themselves, who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?

That was the exact point Jesus was making. He was God in the flesh, and He was about to do something that God alone could do. The Pharisees and Scribes couldn’t see that Jesus was the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy. They were too carnal and blinded by religion to recognize that the Messiah, the very son of God, stood before them. He was deity wrapped in humanity. He could do what only God could do, because He was, in fact, God.

And that’s what you need to remember. The same Jesus that forgives sins and heals all diseases is alive today, and He is yet working. Your ailment, your condition and your problem simply provide platforms for Him to display His power and authority over those things.

In 2019, there is some stuff God is going to do for you that no other power can do. He’s going to heal, work miracles, open doors, and set you free.

I want you to pay attention to something closely. When the Pharisees got mad at Jesus for saying He could heal sins, they didn’t verbalize that. But Jesus, the all-knowing One, still knew what they were thinking.  If you notice, in this passage in Matthew, it is not recorded that anyone said anything at all to Jesus—not even the friends that tore the roof off. But Jesus saw their faith, and He knew it was authentic. The paralytic man never articulated his need to be saved from sin, but Jesus knew the condition of his heart.

Friend, what does this tell you? Jesus knows your condition. He understands your predicament. He sees your needs, even the ones you have not yet articulated. In Matthew 6:8, Jesus said, “…for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”

When you need breakthrough, He knows it. When you need increase, He knows it.  When you need healing, He knows it. When you need restoration, He knows it. When you need stability, He knows it. When you need deliverance, He knows it. When you need help, He knows it. He’s going to supply every need.

Jesus, who first forgave the man’s sins before healing him, did this, according to verse 6, “to prove to you that the Son of Man has authority to forgive sin.”

That word authority is the Greek word, Exousia, which means to have both the right and the ability; to have the legal jurisdiction and the power. Jesus basically said, I have the right and power to do this thing, because I’m God.

Friend, the same God that did it for the sin-sick and paralyzed man, is about to do something miraculous for you—something that only God can do. He is about to display His authority over sickness; over lack; over depression; over stagnation; over the storm; over the test; over all that has come against you. Satan, who has viciously attacked you, neither has the right nor the power to keep you bound up, locked up, tangled up, tied up, and caught up in this struggle. His power is no match for the power of our Omnipotent God.

This year, get your expectation up. Don’t be like the Pharisees and Scribes that viewed Jesus as limited in power. What a big mistake! His power is limitless. It was then, and so it is now. There is no challenge too great for our sovereign Lord.

So get ready to be released from your prison cell of bondage you’ve been confined to for far too long. God is about to do what only He can do. It’s time to tear the roof off with your faith. Take the limits off of God. By His inexorable power and authority, God has decreed your release, and it shall manifest.

To help you receive your deliverance, I’m stirring a doubt-banishing scripture into your cup of inspiration. It’s found in Jeremiah 32:27 NIV, and it says, "I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?”

As you drink down the contents of your cup, know that God, for whom nothing is impossible, is releasing you from the grip of whatever has hindered you. You’re about to get up from here and go free.

Just put your hope and trust in the Lord. Only God can change this, and He will do it.

Now let’s pray.

God, I reject any doubt and unbelief, and I trust in Your power. I decree that mountains will move, and miracles will manifest. I declare that this is my year to see the manifestation of the miraculous, as I am intentional about exercising my faith in Your mighty power! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
