I dare you to pray this prayer

Pray this with me if you dare: “God, upset my plans.”

If you feel hesitant about asking God to do that, I get it. The idea of losing a handle on things and being placed on a roller coaster ride isn’t all that appealing.

But what if I told you, whether you pray that or not, God is going to do it anyway? You may as well pray it and prepare your spirit for the inevitable.

Today, during my personal devotion time, I was thinking about a few things I had been attempting to handle on my own. Then I said to myself, I need to give up control.

Suddenly, I heard the voice of the Lord respond to me saying, “You were never in control in the first place.”

Bloop.

The Lord will get us straight quick, won’t He?

Control is an illusion. We don’t have it. Never did. Try and remember this in times when life feels out of control and stressful.

Here’s the thing, friend. Life is never out of control. Though we use this expression, it’s not true. Sure, life may be out of your control or out of my control but never out of God’s control.

And if He is in control, why worry? Why stress?

Is He not able? Is He not faithful? Is He not a provider? Is He not a healer? Is He not a restorer? Is He not a way-maker? Is He not all-powerful? Is He not everywhere, including in your circumstances, at all times?

So again, why worry?

God is in control, which means your circumstances are under His control, which means that He is causing your circumstances to align with His will. And since His will is good, then He is causing things to work out for your good. Trust Him.

The very God of the universe has power over everything, and He has a plan for your situation. Though it may look like it, things will not fall apart. Though it may feel like it, your world will not crumble.

God is there constantly working in your favor.

As I was spending time in His presence, He led me to a beautiful passage of Scripture in Colossians 1:17 MSG, which is what I’m stirring into your cup of inspiration: “He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment.”

As you drink down the contents of your cup, receive what God is saying. He is with you. Don’t fret. He’s holding all this together and causing it to work together for your good, too.

Now, let’s pray.

God, thank You for reminding me that I was never in control, but You have been since the beginning and always will be. And because my life is in Your hands, it is in the best hands, and all is well. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you desire prayer, please allow me, along with my intercessory prayer team, to stand in faith with you for breakthrough. We would be so honored. We have seen God work over and over again. There is power in agreement. Click here to request prayer now.

As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
