Your season is changing quickly

There are some good things God is about to do—and they will happen for you quickly. I believe the Lord sent you here today, my friend, to give you a special message and it’s this: your season is changing. He is expediting the switchover. Be encouraged and get ready to see the exciting transformation.

Kenya, my husband of 25 years, was once an incredible distance runner. When we first started dating in the mid-90s, I marveled at all the trophies and awards at his house; there were so many!

At Bennett High School, where we both graduated from, he was co-captain of both the Track & Field and Cross Country teams. Kenya’s leadership and speed helped his team become the first City of Buffalo Public School team to go to the New York State Cross Country Championships.

It was an exciting time.

In 2013, he and I returned to our high school alma mater with our four children, as Kenya was inducted into the Bennett Sports Hall of Fame. The ceremony was beautiful. It was especially sweet seeing him acknowledged for his past outstanding achievements.

As fast as Kenya could run back in the day, however, even he couldn’t run as fast as Elijah the Prophet did in 1 Kings 18!

This chapter introduces us to the supernatural end of a long season of drought. God opened the heavens and watered the thirsty land, releasing famine’s grip on Israel. Beneath a blackened sky, King Ahab’s chariot, pulled by stallions, pushed through heavy winds and rain to avoid getting stuck in the fierce storm. But Elijah, strengthened by God’s power, was able to outrun Ahab’s chariot for several miles, beating the horses to the entrance of Jezreel.

Many Bible scholars agree that Elijah ran for at least 15 miles. Some say up to 25. Even more fascinating, on average, horses run 25-30 miles per hour—the fastest can run up to 55 mph. For reference, Usain Bolt, regarded the greatest sprinter of all time, ran 27.8 mph in less than ten seconds. But he has never sustained that speed for 15 miles.

Elijah did, though. As a rough estimate, he ran at least 15 miles at approximately 30 miles per hour. And we can agree that this is no ordinary feat. But God’s mighty hand was on Elijah, anointing him to do the impossible.

The place where he was headed, Jezreel, is a word combination of “to sow” and “Almighty.” Combined, in Hebrew, these root words mean “God will sow.”

Now consider the powerful symbolism here. God, who had just miraculously ended a longtime drought, was not finished. He speedily transported Elijah to Jezreel—a place where God Himself sowed, thereby making the harvest inevitable. There will never be a time when God sows and you don’t reap. Divine seed always brings forth abundant harvest.

Always.

And just as Israel was going from famine to fruitfulness in 1 Kings 18, so are you. God told me to declare “abrupt change” over you. Abrupt means sudden, unexpected, immediate. With immediacy, He is invading your unfavorable places with His favor. He is sending rain into your dry desert and commanding a divine shift. Prepare your heart to reap a much-needed harvest quickly.

It may be bad today, but that’s alright.

Just before God opened the heavens for Israel, things had gotten so rough, King Ahab and his servant, Obadiah, were checking to see if they could find enough grass anywhere to at least save some of the king’s starved horses and mules (vv. 5-6). It was that grim. But in a blink, God changed everything, and the same God is changing things for you!

There may be no indication that this change of which I speak is imminent. No worries. We walk by faith and not by sight, right? So then, even when you don’t see it, believe it anyway, and begin praising in advance for manifestation.

Come into agreement with this word, and prophesy over yourself, “My season is changing quickly!”

Ah, yes it is.

In the first portion of Ezekiel 12:25 (GW), which is what I’m stirring into your cup of inspiration, God said this: “I, the LORD, will speak. Everything that I say will happen without any more delay.”

As you drink down the contents of your cup, as it pertains to the good things God has for you, I cancel every delay over your destiny. I speak expedited breakthrough and a quick season change. Receive it.

Now, let’s pray.

God, thank You for ending delays and droughts. I believe that I will see Your hand move in my favor and usher me into a season of extraordinary change and blessings—quickly. I praise You for it in advance. It is done. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
