From inconvenient moment to inconceivable miracle

The enemy loves to use life’s inconveniences as tools of discouragement. You lose a job. Budget-blowing emergencies pop up. Unexpected health issues manifest. An unfortunate family crisis happens. Relationship turmoil intensifies. Loved ones go through harrowing circumstances. A personal betrayal pulls the rug out from under you. Losses increase as gains decrease.

These inconvenient seasons, though common to us all, can feel especially daunting and challenging when you’re personally faced with them. If you fail to remind yourself that we serve a God who specializes in turning inconvenient ordeals into inconceivable blessings, the spirit of heaviness and fear will overtake you.

You’ll be utterly downcast like the Israelites initially were in Judges 6 after their enemies, the Midianites, attacked and vanquished them. Though Israel had an army of 22,000, they were no match for their innumerable opponents whose livestock were “too many to count” (Judges 6:5).

How could Israel possibly overcome this powerful military threat and restore stability to their nation? Well, they cried out to the Lord, but His response seemed irrational. He commanded Israel to downsize their army from 22,000 to 300—a move that would seemingly plunge Israel deeper into inconvenience and defeat.

But this was just a setup for God to get the glory!

We know this because God told Israel, “If I let all of you fight the Midianites, the Israelites will boast to me that they saved themselves by their own strength” (Judges 7:2).

You see, God wanted Israel to know that victory was attained “not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit” (Zechariah 4:6). He wanted to offer irrefutable proof that man’s inconvenient circumstances provide the perfect platform for God to showcase His incomparable ability to do the impossible.

This inconvenient moment was leading to an inconceivable miracle, and the same is true for you. That’s what God sent me to tell you today, my friend. The Lord is going to show off His power and show you a miracle.

God getting ready to turn things around in a way that will leave you with no doubt that no one could have done this but God!

I know inconveniences can feel overwhelming but know that God’s overwhelming favor is with you. He’s up to something good.

Speaking of something good, there’s an awesome word from the Lord in this Bible story that we sometimes miss amid all the upheaval and melee of war. Despite the Midianite’s formidability, God promised to give Israel supernatural ability. He told them, “I will be with you. And you will destroy the Midianites as if you were fighting against one man” (Judges 6:16).

Had Israel zoned in on that promise and believed it immediately, they wouldn’t have been worried about being reduced to an army of 300. After all, 300 against “one man” provided Israel a clear advantage.

As you can see, prophetically, even before they set their feet on the battleground, God had already turned their disadvantage into an advantage. Had they simply taken God at His word by faith, their confidence would have been bolstered. They would have walked around rejoicing and declaring, the Midianites were supernaturally outnumbered!

In the natural, I know it didn’t appear that way, but we serve a God who “calls the things that are not, as though they were” (Romans 4:17). And if God said it is so, then it must be so. And so, it was.

Israel defeated Midian just as God promised. Their inconvenient moment became an inconceivable miracle.

That’s what’s getting ready to happen for you. Even though you are facing some inconveniences that the enemy would love to use to discourage you, choose faith. Receive this word of hope and be assured that victory already belongs to you because God said so.

He told me to tell you, this will not defeat you. You will come out victoriously. He will turn this around for your good. The weapon that is formed against you won’t prosper. He already has you covered. Furthermore, you don’t even need to fight in this battle, for the battle is not yours but God’s!

To prepare you for your miraculous shift, I’m stirring a sweetener into your cup of inspiration found in the first portion of Zephaniah 3:9 MSG, which says, “In the end I will turn things around for the people.”

As you drink down the contents of your cup, rejoice for your inevitable turnaround because good things are on the way for you!

Now, say this prayer with me.

God, thank You for reminding me that this battle is not mine but Yours. I believe that this inconvenient moment will become an inconceivable miracle and a testament to Your power to do anything. Right now, I open my heart to receive all of Your blessings, bounty, and benefits by faith. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
