Your divine release is on the way

On my podcast today, I shared how I began working on a book last year but couldn’t get my thoughts together. I attempted to work on my manuscript again this year, and the same thing happened. I couldn’t pull it together.

I was a bit frustrated and confused. Why was it so hard for me to write this book? I had written books before – both for myself and my ghostwriting clients. I felt like I was supposed to share my testimony with others in book form. So why wasn’t it working out? What was the problem?

In prayer, God spoke to me and told me, not yet. It wasn’t time for me to complete that assignment, and I needed to back away from it until the season was right. I obeyed God and withdrew from working on that. It was honestly a relief to hear from God; I was only writing out of my desire to share God’s goodness so that He might be glorified. I breathed a sigh of relief knowing I could rest.

I am confident, however, that when God’s timing comes, I will write and release that book, and it will be a blessing to the people God sends to read it.

I’ve learned at various times throughout my walk of faith that it is possible to do the right thing in the wrong season. If it doesn’t align within God’s timing, it won’t work.

A great example of this is in John 7, where Jesus made an appearance at the Feast of Tabernacles. Jesus was a controversial figure, and the religious leaders wanted Him arrested. During the feast, despite being Jerusalem’s most wanted, Jesus began teaching publicly, leaving the Jews in awe and sparking debates over whether or not He was indeed the Messiah.

Some said yes, others said no.

The Temple guards were on hand at the festival too, so when they returned without having taken Jesus into custody, the priests and Pharisees asked, “Why didn’t you bring Him in?”

The guards said, “We never heard anyone speak like this!”

The officers were wowed by Jesus’ amazing, revelatory preaching and failed to do their jobs. The Pharisees mocked them and called others who followed Jesus “foolish,” “ignorant of the law,” and “cursed” (vv. 45-47).

Though being impacted by Jesus’ teaching is understandable – He was the son of God and the Word made flesh after all (John 1:14) – still, why didn’t anybody arrest Jesus?

Well, verse 30 tells us why: “Therefore they sought to take Him; but no one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.”

It was not time. And even though they wanted to, they couldn’t. That’s why.

Divine timing is everything. There are some things that are about to happen in your life for this reason: It’s your set time of breakthrough!
— Dianna Hobbs

That word hour in verse 30 is the Greek word hóra and indicates a finite season; limited time or opportunity to reach a goal or fulfill a purpose; a divinely preset time period; or a limited period to accomplish the Lord's specific purpose.

It wasn’t Jesus’ time to die yet, so no one could lay a hand on Him. It didn’t matter what their desires were. It wasn’t up to them.

It behooves us to remember this in our own lives. There are some things we may want to do, endeavor to do, or set out to do, but it’s not up to us. There is a divinely appointed-season for things to happen in your life. And if it’s not time, it won’t work.

On the other hand, when your set time arrives, which will come, no one and nothing can stop the hand of God from moving on your behalf. Through this word, God is reminding you that your set time is on the way. He is going to release some things for you and break some things wide open in your favor. You’ve been waiting a while for God to move, and He’s assuring you that He will.

He’s been getting you ready for what’s to come. Your divine release is on the way.

To remind you of this truth, I’m stirring the latter half of Psalm 102:13 NIV into your cup of inspiration, which says, “…for it is time to show favor to her; the appointed time has come.”

As you drink down the contents of your cup, thank God in advance for your set time of favor!

Now, let’s pray.

God, thank You for the blessings and favor You are about to release. I realize that the wait was necessary for my preparation and for the development of my faith. I will stay in expectation and rejoice in advance for all You will do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you desire prayer, please allow me, along with my intercessory prayer team, to stand in faith with you for breakthrough. We would be so honored. We have seen God work over and over again. There is power in agreement. Click here to request prayer now.

As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
