Jesus, the great multiplier

When I was younger, I learned a song in church based on the story of Jesus miraculously feeding the crowd of more than 5,000 with two fish and five barley loaves. That story is found in Matthew 14:13-21.

One of my favorite lines from the song says, “Little becomes much when you place it in the Master’s hands.”

Back when I first learned the song, I was too young to really understand the significance of Christ’s power to turn our little bit into a lot and our not-enough into more than enough. But with time, age and experience, I became intimately acquainted with and appreciative of the Lord’s power to take next to nothing and create overflow.

I saw Him do it once again yesterday through Empowering Everyday Women Ministries’ GivingTuesday campaign. Donors rallied around our 501c3 nonprofit’s cause to feed the hungry, provide clean water and clothing for the homeless, give away free Christian resources, educational books and literacy training to global youth, and most importantly, to share the gospel with the lost and broken around the world.

The donations poured in so fast beginning yesterday morning. By the time evening rolled around, less than an hour before GivingTuesday ended, I received word that our donations surpassed the goal we originally set.

Jesus multiplied and supplied. He’s amazing!

In this season, God will supply and multiply. He is going to meet every need and bring increase. Trust Him. He is faithful, and He will do it!

I would be remiss if I did not say how deeply grateful my staff and I are for the local, regional, national and international individuals, leaders, groups, sponsoring organizations and partners, and all the volunteers who have given their donations, talents, and services to this great Kingdom work. God has used you mightily.

May God return what you have given in good measure and reward you accordingly.

If you are reading this message and are in need of divine favor, increase and provision, Jesus, the great multiplier and supplier, will provide for every need you have. All you have to do is trust Him.

Hold fast to the truth of Philippians 4:19 NIV, which says, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

Now, let’s pray.
