God is preparing you for better

I was recently at the department of motor vehicles with my daughter, Kyla. While there, a gentleman said to me, “What is your name?”

“Dianna,” I answered.

“The blessed one!” he replied with a smile before telling me he had been one of my listeners when I was a radio DJ.

Since resigning from my post in January 2016, more than six years ago, my former listener said I was “sorely missed” and expressed his hopes that I would someday return.

He then added, “God is not finished with you yet,” and prophesied “better and greater things” to come.

Since I know that God both works and speaks in mysterious ways, I received the word by faith.

I always try to remain open and sensitive to God’s voice.

It was openness and sensitivity, in fact, that helped me recognize God’s calling to walk away from radio, despite loving it, and launch a podcast.

I didn’t know much about podcasts and had grown comfortable as a professional broadcaster through a traditional medium. Podcasting seemed abstract, difficult, and weird, and I was uncomfortable with the idea.

Nevertheless, God was calling me to it.

It was up to me to trust Him when He said He had something new, different, and better for me that would further expand the reach of the gospel through this ministry.

I was nervous and felt out of my element. Yet, in obedience to the Lord, my team and I introduced the Daily Cup podcast as a companion to the blog and were amazed to see how quickly God prospered the endeavor.

Very recently, by the grace of God, the podcast achieved a major milestone: it has been downloaded by one million people – far surpassing the thousands I reached through my daily radio broadcast. Imagine what great opportunities to share the gospel I would have missed had I refused to leave my comfort zone and say yes to God’s plan for better.

Oftentimes, your season of greater and better is on the other side of your comfort zone. In fact, God is sending you this word because He is preparing you for better. Believe and receive that today!

I was recently reading Hebrews 6:9, a portion of which says, “But, beloved, we are convinced of better things concerning you.”

Better here is a Greek word meaning “stronger, more excellent, more advantageous, or greater.”

In this chapter – and throughout the book of Hebrews – the writer speaks of Jesus’ superiority by explaining how Jesus, our High Priest under the new covenant, is superior to the Levitical priests established under the old covenant.

Unfortunately, some were unwilling to embrace Jesus’ new, unfamiliar covenant despite it being the clearly better choice. They were too married to their comfort zone.

The writer of Hebrews desperately tried to get them to see why Christ was the answer.

Jesus, unlike earthly priests that repeatedly offered the blood of bulls and goats as sacrifices for sin but had no power to transform the sinner, sacrificed Himself once for all time, cleansing us of all transgression.

Better.

Instead of writing laws on tablets of stone as Moses did in the Old Testament, Jesus said, “I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts” (Heb 8:10).

Better.

Even so, some were unable to believe and thus did not receive the fullness of God’s grace, promises, spirit, or abundance. But you and I, by grace through faith – and not of works – have received Christ and gained access to all the ongoing benefits.

Because of this, we can rightly expect better things. So, get your expectation up! Believe that God is preparing you to reap more.

More excellent things. Greater things. Things that go above and beyond all you ask or think. Things you’ve been praying about and things you haven’t.

Things that will blow your mind. Things that will transform your life and increase you in the most amazing ways for the glory of God. Though you may not see it happening yet, God has more for you.

To remind you of this truth, I’m stirring one of my favorite Scriptures into your cup of inspiration: “For I am sure of this very thing, that the one who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6 NLT).

As you drink down the contents of your cup, prepare to receive abundant blessings, major harvests, and divine manifestations of favor.

Though you may currently have unanswered prayer requests, unfulfilled promises, and unmanifested prophetic words, God has not changed His mind about you. Better is indeed coming.

Now, let’s pray.

God, thank You for opening my heart and mind to receive this prophetic word that tells of blessings, favor, and abundant harvests that are on the way for me. Help me to walk by faith and not by sight to receive everything you have in store. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

If you desire prayer, please allow me, along with my intercessory prayer team, to stand in faith with you for breakthrough. We would be so honored. We have seen God work over and over again. There is power in agreement. Click here to request prayer now.

As always, thanks for reading and until next time... may today's cup of inspiration uplift, encourage, and empower you!
