God is removing the obstacles
I love a nice, hot bath or shower. I particularly enjoy hot showers because they relax our muscles and nerves and help the whole body relax. Also, steaming showers can relieve muscle pain and release toxins from the body. I highly recommend them.
Because of how much I enjoy a hot shower, I wasn’t too happy when I recently noticed that the water pressure was low in the shower. I wasn’t sure what was causing this drop in water pressure. Was there trouble with our hot water tank? Was there a blockage in the pipes?
Well, after researching and investigating the situation, the problem became clear: there was calcium buildup in the showerhead. Though the showerhead looked good as new on the outside, inside, it was all backed up. That’s what prevented sufficient water from getting through, resulting in low water pressure. But once the showerhead was all cleaned out, the strong water pressure returned, and that hot shower felt glorious!
Whether in the shower or in life in general, blockages hinder the flow of good and necessary things. But thankfully, God is able to unblock the flow of what we need and cause showers of blessings to flow to us. This is what He promised to do for the Israelites in Ezekiel 34:25.
God said, “I will send down showers in their season; they will be showers of blessing.”
What a good promise, right? The Israelites had been enslaved by oppressors and wandering in the wilderness under the constant threat of danger. But God assured them that He would make a covenant of peace with them which was fulfilled through Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace. That covenant would give them the safety, security, relief and flow of blessings they desired. Friend, you and I enjoy the benefits of that same covenant of peace through Christ!
“God is removing blockages and hindrances and commanding blessings to flow to you and overtake you. Rejoice! ”
When life is dealing you unexpected and unpleasant blows, and blessings don’t seem to be flowing your way, remember the encouraging promise of Ezekiel 34:25. As God’s covenant child, you can be sure that it’s only a matter of time before He removes the hindrances and causes showers, streams and rivers of blessings to flow to you.
Those who walk faithfully with the Lord and put their trust in Him can fully expect the obstacles to be removed. Isaiah 57:14 says, “And it will be said: ‘Build up, build up, prepare the road! Remove the obstacles out of the way of my people.’”
What obstacles need to be removed in your life? This is God’s way of encouraging you and confirming that He will indeed remove them and command blessings to flow to you and overtake you.
Now, let’ spray.
God, I have run into roadblocks and dealt with setbacks in my life. Yet, I still believe Your word is true, and I am confident that in due time, You will remove every obstacle and cause blessings to flow to me according to Your will. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
