It will happen

A few years ago, when I was very sick, I felt like I was dying. One day, it got so bad, I laid in bed feeling nearly hopeless. Doctors had not been able to help me, and the prescriptions they wrote for me did no good.

“Give up,” the enemy whispered. “It will never get better.”

It seemed like Satan was right. After all, this mysterious and excruciating illness had been plaguing me for months with no answers and no end in sight. There seemed to be no way out but death.

Well, in that extremely distressing moment, I heard my cell phone ringing. It was right next to me, so I picked it up and said, “Hello?”

“God told me to call and pray for you,” said the voice on the other end. It was one of my sisters from North Carolina, and she began interceding for me. Boy was she right on time. I so needed that prayer right then! I remember that she asked God to give me relief and healing.

Despite her sincere prayer, an hour later, I was rushed to the hospital in terrible shape. I remember how discouraged I felt. Once again, Satan started speaking words of defeat to my mind.

“If God hears your prayers, then why are you sick and in the hospital again? Why didn’t He heal you?” he taunted me.

In some ways, I felt like the prophet Habakkuk who was frustrated with waiting in Habakkuk 1. Israel’s violent and cruel enemies had authority over them, and there seemed to be no retribution for their evil deeds. Habakkuk thought this was unfair and asked God why He hadn’t intervened yet. Why was the Lord silent? Why was God letting this happen? It didn’t seem right!

When I was bedridden, it didn’t seem fair. I didn’t understand why God was letting that happen to me either. Have you ever been there?

God wants you to know that His word is true. What He promised you will happen. Don’t be discouraged by the delay. It will come to pass!
— Dianna Hobbs

In spite of my frustration and lack of clarity, I kept on believing. My healing didn’t come right away, oh but when God did it, He showed up in a big way and worked a miracle for me. Though my breakthrough was delayed, it wasn’t denied. Things turned around for me, and they will turn around for you too.

Perhaps you’re waiting on a breakthrough today. There may be some questions needing answers and problems needing resolutions. If so, don’t be discouraged by the delay. God will not deny you, nor will He fail you.

Today, as I was reading Habakkuk 2:3 CEV, I felt led to stir into your “Saturday Sip.” It says, “At the time I have decided, my words will come true. You can trust what I say about the future. It may take a long time, but keep on waiting--it will happen!”

You may be sick, but healing will come. You may be lacking, but increase will come. You may be confused, but clarity will come. You may be weeping, but joy will come. You may be waiting, but manifestation will come.

Hold on. It will happen. God will come through.

Now, let’s pray.

God, I believe Your word, and I trust Your promises. Yet, in times of waiting, the enemy taunts me and tries to make me lose my faith. But thank You for reminding me that You are faithful to perform Your word, no matter how long it takes.
